Ivermectin is an anti-parasitic drug. Head lice, scabies, river blindness (onchocerciasis), strongyloidiasis, trichuriasis, ascariasis, and lymphatic filariasis are examples of human parasitic infestations. • Onchocerciasis, also called river blindness, which can bring on an itchy rash, eye disease, or abnormal growths under the skin.

Both lice and skin diseases like rosacea and scabies can be treated with a type of ivermectin that you put on your skin (called a topical medication).
